My SuperWoman

OLDER

NEWER
su·per·wom·an

1. A woman who performs all the duties typically associated with several different full-time roles; 2. A woman with more than human powers. (www.thefreedictionary.com)

For me, you would have to add 3. Mother.

My mother, like all mothers, is a superwoman. Although she has always been a housewife, she works full-time. Her many jobs include, wife, mother, nurse, chef, maid, laundress, chauffeur, and entertainer to just name a few. It wasn’t easy for her taking care of her five sons and me, the only daughter. My brothers certainly gave her quite a time when they were younger, some still do. If that wasn’t enough, my parents also adopted a niece and nephew whose parents unfortunately are quite a disappointment, in order to give the children a better life. As such, no sooner did my mother just finish raising her own children, but now she is raising her grandchildren.

Now, I know lots of other parents are taking care of their grandchildren these days. However, it takes a real special person and a real superwoman to have raised her own six children to then raise two of her grandchildren. But, if that were not enough, my mother has also had the added stress of her adopted grandson being diagnosed with leukemia. So, for going on two years now, she has been dealing with that as well. Add in all the normal stresses of everyday living, and it shows that she must have superhuman abilities. She strives for a postive attitude when others have not, she is amazing.

So, if I were to say there was a superwoman, my mother would be number one.
